Discovery West is a neighborhood development on the west side of Bend that has named 19 streets after women in history who have made significant discoveries. One of those remarkable women is Dr. Ellen Ochoa, the first Latinx female in space, an astronaut on the Discovery space shuttle, and former director of the Johnson Space Center.

Come join us on October 5th at the grand opening of the Discovery West neighborhood plaza where Dr Ochoa will be speaking and signing books. CMCO will have hands-on experiences available for the whole family as we celebrate Women of Discovery!
